Gaza war worries regional leaders as Ramadan approaches

Gaza (MNN) — Senior US and Israeli leaders are meeting in Washington this week to discuss the Gaza crisis. The US began humanitarian aid drops this weekend in the latest attempt to alleviate suffering.

Hamas officials have not agreed to a temporary ceasefire that Israel signed off on, so the war rages on, sending ripple effects throughout the region.

“Remember that whatever is happening in Gaza is affecting not only the surrounding countries but also the whole Middle East – Yemen, Dubai, Jordan, Egypt,” Fadi Sharaiha with the MENA Leadership Center says.

“All over the Arab world, people are feeling it.”

The timing of Israel’s potential expansion into Rafah has several Middle Eastern leaders on edge. Ramadan – the Islamic month of fasting – begins on March 10the same day Israel vows to begin its assault on Rafah.

Christians are not immune from the regional tension. “This is also affecting the mental health and the spiritual health of Christian leaders,” Sharaiha says.

“Christians are anxious in the region because this is not over yet. The whole thing is a mess, so people are anxious, especially in Lebanon, because they’re not sure what is next.”

Man Ignores Naysayers to Revive Tiny Sparrow with CPR – Watch the Moment his Patience is Rewarded

Submitted by Costakis Constantinou

In a heartwarming video, a 67-year-old actor from Cyprus became determined to use his CPR expertise to save a tiny, helpless sparrow.

The avian creature was found unconscious following an “unfortunate pool mishap”.

In the background of the video, you can hear a chorus of teasing and snickering, with voices urging him to dispose of the seemingly lifeless bird—but Costakis Constantinou remains undeterred.

“Nobody thought this was possible or even worth trying, however, he stayed focused and patiently continued,” his son Rolandos told GNN.

With unwavering determination, he persistently, applied his life-saving skills until, against all odds, the sparrow gradually regained consciousness, fluttering back to life.

“I can say with confidence that he was very, very happy, relieved, and satisfied when the little sparrow opened its eyes and flew away.”

When Rolandos rewatched the video again (see below), he got emotional and telephoned his father to tell him how proud he was.

“In the past he saved two people from heart attack by applying CPR. For some reason my father is at the right place at the right time.”

Fox News Remains Most-Watched News Network

This is TVNewser’s basic cable network ranker and cable news report for the week of March 11, 2024.

It was a return to Earth for the cable news networks as the huge numbers they enjoyed during the busy news week of March 4, which featured two political-heavy events were nowhere to be found. That week contained coverage of Super Tuesday and President Joe Biden‘s State of the Union address. Fox News, as usual, led the cable news networks, but each of them including MSNBC and CNN, saw double-digit drops in both measured categories (total viewers and Adults 25-54) and in both dayparts (primetime and total day).

NETWORKS:

Nielsen live plus same-day data for the week of March 11 saw FNC average 2,056 million total viewers and 222,000 A25-54 viewers during primetime. The network was down in total viewers by -21% and -37% in the A25-54 demo, relative to the week prior (week beginning March 4).

In total day viewing, Fox News averaged 1,256 million total viewers and 147,000 A25-54 viewers. This translated to declines of -14% in total viewers and -23% in A25-54 from what Fox News averaged in those measurements the week prior.

Among all basic cable networks,
